They are tenants of this Manor & bound this day & holiday in default to pay a fine to the Lord of the Manor

Died. & sworn upon oath before those present that Guy FOSTER knight who freeholds 2 acres of land in Bozeat at rent of 4 pence per annum after the last court died, and William FOSTER Armiger is son and heir to the aforesaid Guy and takes the freehold upon payment of 8 pence relief to the Lord of the Manor. But the said William did not pay the relief and the Bailiff is to take goods to raise the dues.(distraint)

And that William FOSTER Armiger freeholder of 2 acres from the Lord of this Manor at rent of 4 pence per annum, since the last court sold the 2 acres to a certain William SEREDGE and he should pay 8 pence relief & because he did not pay the Bailiff is to take goods to raise the dues.

It is presented that Richard CHILD gent who held 47 acres acres of land at rent of 13 pence & one halfpenny, since the last court has died & that by his last will and testament the tenancy passes to Alexander ORLIBEARE son of George ORLIBEARE gent, who is aged about 5 years.

It is presented that Thomas DOBBS freeholder of 30 acres of land from the Lord of this Manor at rent of 2 pence, after the last court died and that his brother Philip DOBBS is the next heir when he pays to the Lord a relief of 4 pence, but the said Philip did not pay the relief and the Bailiff is to take goods to raise the dues. (distraint)

It is presented that Philip DOBBS freeholder of 30 acres of land from the Lord of this Manor, at rent of 2 pence per annum since the last court has sold the same to a certain Thomas HULL and relief of 4 pence is due to the Lord, but the said Thomas did not pay & the Bailiff is to take goods to raise the dues. (distraint)

It is presented that Thomas HULL who holds 30 acres from the Lord of this Manor at rent of 2 pence per annum, since the last court has sold the same to a certain Thomas BLETSOE and relief of 4 pence is due to the Lord but the said Thomas BLETSOE did not pay and the Bailiff is to take goods to raise the dues. (distraint)

It is presented that Richard DOBBS freeholder of 18 acres of land from the Lord of this Manor, at rent of 2 pence per annum, since the last court sold the said land to George ORLIBEARE gent, and 4 pence relief is due to the Lord, but the said George did not pay and the Bailiff is to take goods to raise the dues. (distraint)

Sworn before those present that William BLOTT freeholder of 2 cottages & 22 acres of land at rent of 4 pence halfpenny, since the last court sold them to a certain Thomas BLOTT and 9 pence relief is due to the Lord but the said Thomas did not pay.

And that Thomas BLOTT freeholder of 22 acres from the Lord of this Manor at rent per annum of 4 pence halfpenny, has died since the last court and the land was sold to a certain Thomas HULL and he to pay 9 pence relief to the Lord but the said Thomas HULL did not pay & the Bailiff to take goods to raise the dues. (distraint)

And sworn before those present, upon oath, that the aforesaid Thomas HULL broke the common pound and is fined 6s  8d.

Also presented Henry STURGYN for the same and fined  3s. 4d.

Also presented John BAXTER made a rescue upon the Hayward, fined 3s. 4d.

And they present that William GLOVER purchased of William WISEMAN gent one house and twenty foure acres of land holden of this Manor by fealty suite of court and the rent of ii l. and halfe of wax and three quarters & halfe a quater of a pound of pepper whereupon there is due to the Lord for a reliefe one yeares rent and hath performed his fealty and is admitted tennant.

Frances NICHOLLS spinster is dau & heir of Wm NICHOLLS dec'd of a messuage & 20 acres of land and hath performed her fealty and is admitted tennant.

Humphrey BETTLE is son & heir of Agnes BETTLE widd. dec'd of a cottage for which he hath performed fealty and is admitted tennant.

Thomas BERRILL purchased of Stephen SMART one cottage for which he has performed fealty and is admitted tennant.

1. Imprimis it is agreed that the Comons shall be stoned out by the Jury before the tenth of May next on paine of every Juryman makeing defalt vs.

2. Itm that none shall gleane any beanes in the feilds on paine of  iijs. iiijd.

3. Itm it is ordered that none shall gleane in any of the feilds before sunn riseing and after sunn sett on paine of  xijd. everyone soe offending

4. Itm it is ordered that none shall gather any hogg weed except on his owne ground on paine of  xijd.

5. Itm it is ordered that none shall carry any bushes out of the comon feilds without a gererall consent on paine for every bottle or burden iiijd.  & for every cart load  xs.

6. Itm it is ordered that none shall putt any horses mares & colts into the feilds before lamas day on paine of  vs.

7. Itm it is ordered that noe mares or foales shall be flitt in the Wheate feild after Middsumer day on paine of  iijs.iiijd.

8. Itm it is ordered every plow land shall find a horse to draw the meares in the fallow feild before the first of May next if the rest of the Townesmen will thereto consent on paine of any one makeing defalt vs.

Presented that William PETTIT purchased from William DODSON a messuage held from the Lord of this Manor at annual rent of half a pound of wax and half a quarter of a pound of pepper and relief of one pound of wax and one quarter of a pound of pepper is due to the Lord?? and was paid by the said William.

Presented that Francis  COLLINSON sold to John FARROWE, a tenement held of the Lord of this Manor at annual rent of [  ]

Presented that Francis COLLINSON died in possession of a tenement held of the Lord of this Manor at rent of [  ] per annum & that  Paulus COLLINSON is his son & heir and aged about 14 years old and a relief is due to the Lord of [  ] respited because he is under age.

Presented that William PETTITT sold to John PETTIT a tenement held of the Lord of this Manor at annual rent of [  ] and a relief of [  ] is due to the Lord and the said John paid.

Presented that John FARIE sold to William FEARY a cottage & tenement held of the Lord of this Manor at annual rent of 2 pence and a relief of 2 pence is due to the Lord & the said William paid.

Presented that William GLOVER sold to Henry ROBINSON, a messuage & 90 acres of land held of the Lord of this Manor at annual rent of 9 pence 3 farthings & there is a relief due to the Lord of 19 pence & one halfpenny & the said Henry paid.

Presented that William FEARY sold to William WALKER a tenement held of the Lord of this Manor at annual rent of one penny and there is a relief due to the Lord of 2 pence and the said William paid.

Presented that Thomas BARRINGER died in possession of a tenement held of the Lord of this Manor at annual rent of 6 pence & that Robert BARRINGER is his son & next heir & there is a relief due to the Lord of 12 pence and the said Robert paid.

Presented that Richard DRAGE sold to Richard SMARTE a parcel of land upon which he had built a dwelling & held of the Lord of this Manor at annual rent of one penny & a relief is due to the Lord of 2 pence and the said Richard paid.

Presented that Henry YELVERTON knight & Baronet sold to Richard BERRILL a tenement held of the Lord of this Manor at annual rent of 1 penny & a relief is due to the Lord of 2 pence and the said Richard paid.

Presented that Henry MELDBURY sought grain & barley from the Duchy of Lancaster in the hundred of Higham Ferrers to be ground by the mill & his own mill without (outside) the Duchy & that he himself carried away beforehand the same grinding to the damage of the mills of the Lord King & is against ancient privilege fined 13s.4d.

Presented that Thomas FOSBURY sen because he encroached upon the property of Katherine WISEMAN widow with a hegdge or fence fined 13s.4d.

Presented that John CHURCH because he encroached upon the waste of the Manor with a wall fined 12d.

Presneted Thomas BLETSOE for a similar offence with a ditch fined 3s 4d.

And that the orders that were made att the last court holden for this Mannor are by the Jury att this court made void and of none effect.

William WALKER paid one penny per annum for a parcel of waste enclosed near the town pond by agreement with the Lord of the Manor.

And John CHURCH who hold one tenement in Bozeat, late Anthony PILGRIM's at rent of 2s per annum and the same John paid one penny per annum for a wall built upon waste of the Manor by agreement with the Lord of the Manor.

And Richard BERRILL acknowledged himself to hold a tenement late YELVERTONS from the Lord of the Manor at rent of a halfpenny per annum & it was bought by the said Richard from Henry YELVERTON Baronet deceased, relief due 1d. and 8d in payment for rent for 16 years last passed.

And Thomas BLETSOE paid 6d. for a wall built upon waste of the Manor by agreement with the Lord of the Manor.
