Bozeat fireA fire broke out in a cottage the first in a row of four, occupied by the horse-keeper to Mr. W. Maxwell, of Puddingbag-lane, on Tuesday morning, causing considerable damage. The occupier's son got up about five o'clock and lighted the fire in the kitchen grate, and, it is said, used some paraffin for the purpose. The flames set the chimney on fire, and in a few minutes the thatched roof was also ignited. The fire quickly spread to the other houses in the row, and before the Wellingboro' Fire Brigade, which had been summoned, could arrive, the conflagration had gained such a headway, that it could not be stayed until two of the buildings were entirely gutted and the other two were almost completely destroyed. There were plenty of helpers on the spot, who greatly assisted in removing the furniture from the houses, so that the inhabitants were not much the losers. The property, which it may be mentioned, was advertised to be sold next week, is insured in the County Fire Office.
