New Wesleyan Chapel—Foundation stones of a new Wesleyan Chapel were laid on the 11th inst., by Mr. J. Wyldes, of Yelden, and Mr. H. J. Mills, of Wellingborough. Bricks were also laid by members and friends. The Chapel is being erected on the site of the old chapel, which has long been found too small and inconvenient for the cause. Tea was provided and was well attended by a numerous company of friends in the district. Collections for the day amounted to about £25, and it is confidently hoped, that with the fulfilment of promises of contributions, the building will be opened some time in October free of debt.

Yelden - Rushden Juveniles gave an interesting missionary programme last night in the Wesleyan Chapel. There was a crowded attendance. Master Eric Colwell presided. The programme included a sketch, “An afternoon call in China,” and native songs. The finances showed an increase.

Yelden - A New Harmonium has been placed in the Wesleyan Chapel, and the instrument, which was purchased from Mr Roberts, of Ringstead, was formally opened on Sunday by Mr G Wooding, of Rushden, being the preacher. Mr G Wooding conducted the services, and Miss W Wooding sang solos both afternoon and evening. At the afternoon service the scholars sang a children’s hymn. The donations, for the instrument fund, were very satisfactory.
