Christmas Fare at Rushden

Grand Displays of Meat – By The Principal Butchers

The leading butchers of Rushden have made thorough provision for the festive season and have purchased extensively at the local fat stock shows.

Messrs. G. H. Skinner and Son

Have a grand display of meat, including prime beef and mutton bred and fed by the following feeders:- Messrs. J. D. Groome, Great Harrowden; Tomkins, Wilby; R. Goosey, Oundle; Cross, Irthlingborough; and Ratcliffe, Ringstead. Also a choice lot of home-fed pork, home rendered lard, etc.

Mr. R. A. Wheeler

Has a fine selection of Norfolk fed cattle, and also some bred by local feeders; and excellent show of prime Southdown mutton and dairy-fed pork, all of the finest quality at the lowest prices; and a choice display of sausage, lard, etc.

Rushden Industrial Co-operative Society Ltd.

In their butchery departments in High-street, Queen-street, and Wellingborough-road, this Society have their usual supply of first-class meat, including best beef and mutton, supplied by Mr. Jas. Harris, of Newton, and some grand pigs supplied by Mr. Harris and the members of the society. Fancy goods from the pork butchery department include pork pies, polonies, brawn, and cooked meats of every description. It should be noted that for the Christmas meat department the animals were specially fed for the society by Mr. Harris at his Grendon Farm.

Mr. John  Williams

High-street, has made some splendid purchases, including the first prize beast and champion at Thrapston Fat Stock Show and also the champion butchers’ prize-winner at Thrapston, besides many other animals, as shown in Mr. Williams’s advertisement in this issue.

RUSHDEN INDUSTRIAL CO-OPERATIVE SOCIETY LTD.

In their butchery departments in High-street, Queen-street, and Wellingborough-road, this Society have their usual supply of first-class meat, including best beef and mutton, supplied by Mr. Jas. Harris, of Newton, and some grand pigs supplied by Mr. Harris and the members of the Society. It should be noted that for the Christmas meat department the animals were specially fed for the Society by Mr. Harris.

MR. EDWARD WARREN

Of Cromwell-road and Pratt-road, Rushden, caters in splendid style for the Christmas trade. He has a grand show of beef, and prime mutton; an excellent show of pork, locally fed; poultry of all kinds, in prime condition, besides sausages, home-rendered lard, hams, and bacon, pies, etc.; new milk; and a large supply of new-laid eggs.
