Frank Chapman was born in 1892, the eldest son of Thomas and Emma (Louisa) Chapman.

In 1901 the family lived in Denmark Road, before moving to Court Estate, where his father had bought a plot of land and built a house in 1906 called the Walnuts.

He established his window cleaning business in 1910.

His father also worked with him in the business until 1935, when Thomas retired. Frank's eldest son, Dick then began to work with his father until he joined the RAF, in September 1941.

For the rest of WWII the advert (right) shows that he was unable to continue this part of the business.

Sadly Dick was killed in action two years later.

Note: It is unclear what other business he had.

Sadly Frank died aged just 52 in 1944 and was buried in Rushden Cemetery plot H.48.
His father died two years later.
