Rushden Industrial Co-operative Society

Newton Road in 1962 shortly before it was refurbished
47 Newton Road at the corner with Pratt Road. Behind was a bakery department.

Bought in about 1960, formerly the bakery and grocery of James Cook, the property had been empty for some years. For a short time before the Co-op purchased the property it may have been a fish and chop?

Refurbished in about 1962

At the rear was the bakery - these were the ovens

Further down Newton Road was the dairy yard and milk float garage, with the old bakery,
and a Fish & Chip shop.
