Rushden Echo, October 14th 1921, transcribed by Kay Collins
PresentationMr W H Marriott, manager of the grocery department of the Rushden Co-operative Society, on having completed 21 years’ service with the society was presented on Tuesday by Mr G W Coles, J.P., president (following the usual custom of the society) with a handsome inscribed gold watch. In handing the gift to Mr Marriott on behalf of the society, Mr Coles expressed their highest appreciation of Mr Marriott’s efficient and faithful duties conscientiously discharged. The committee, he said, felt that the progress of the society was due in no small measure to the splendid organising ability and the untiring energies which had characterised Mr Marriott’s services.
Mr T W Wiggington (secretary) completed 21 years’ service with the society on Saturday last, and a similar presentation to him has been arranged.
