Ron Jaques - Elektro Radio
5 Newton Road

Plan about 1914

outside the shop
c1920 - Temperance Society outing waiting outside the shop of
E Abington also at 5 Newton Road - with the ITO cafe next door

The ITO Cafe and Commercial Hotel was kept by Mrs Banks at 5 Newton Road in a 1926 directory and still there in 1958. They were sharing a property that had begun as a factory and a shop, and later combined into an hotel, and the hotel let out the two shops.

By 1934 one shop part is taken by Ron Jaques as a Radio shop, and he was still there in 1965.

In 1969 he had moved to 14 Church Street, and was now a television and radio manufacturer. In 1973 he was still there.
