The society was registered as a 'Conner' Building Society, and the centre section of the book has Members' Rights and Privileges with a few practical suggestions entitled How to Select a House, and was approved by the Royal Commission, and their report in 1872 stated :- "They are thus, no doubt, specially adapted to the wants of the very poorest class."
The first page of the book has calendars for 1887-1889, and the final page is calendars for the 1890-93.

The cover of the book shows the Sceretary was A G C Vann, of School House. He was the headmaster of South End School.
Member No 81 was Mr James Watts, and he joined in June 1887. He had taken two shares, 204 and 205, and was to subscribe at least one shilling per week. James made his payments until at least May 1895, when the pay-in book was filled and the balance was now £20 16s.
James was born in Bedford in 1849 and in 1881 he was living at Wollaston, at Long Street. He was a plumber and painter. In 1887 he married Charlotte Bailey.
In 1901 he was aged 52 at on Eastfield Estate, with his wife Charlotte and three daughters and two sons.
