On Tuesday, October 18th 1921, in bank­ruptcy, re J. W. Vorley, by order of Howard W. Cox, Esq., the Official Receiver, viz. :

Seven second-hand lady's and Gent's cycle frames, Bates',   Wellington, and Warwick covers and tubes, quantity of burning and lubricating oil in tins, 5 quart tins Elephant burning oil, 55 lb. tins Carbide, 5 4lb tins ditto, Tradesman's cycle carrier, lady's gear case, 1 plated handle bar, 31 pedal rubbers, 9 spindles and cones, and miscellaneous effects.

In bankruptcy, re F. Simpson, by order of Howard, W. Cox, Esq., the Official Receiver, viz. :— 2½h.p. Premier Solo Motor Cycle, in good condition, engine perfect and in good running order.
Also a quantity of useful Household Furni­ture, by order of owners, removed to the Hall for convenience of sale, viz. :—
Satin walnut bedroom suite of wardrobe with plate glass panel in door, dressing chest with swing glass and washstand with marble top and tiled back, a similar suite in dark oak, 3ft. com­bination bedstead, 4 iron bedsteads, 2 chair bedsteads, spring mattress, toilet glass, 2 easy chairs in cord velvet, small roll top desk, fender, 2 curbs, fire implements, 2 overmantels, gramophone with 42 records, ditto with 30 records, 2 mahogany writing desks, 2 wicker stands, hearthrugs, quantity linoleum, lath back arm Windsor chair. 40 yards American leather, table wringer, 5 perambulators—equal to new, folding iron push car, girl's bicycle, quantity cycle accessories, and other effects.   A small Darracq motor lorry. Large slow combustion tortoise stove in good condition. About 2 tons of scrap leather.

Has received instructions from the Executors of the late Mr. T. W. C. Linnitt, to sell by auction at the Coffee Tavern, Rushden on tuesday, 18th october, 1921, at Six o'clock the evening, precisely, subject to such contions of sale as will then be produced, viz. :

Lot 1.All those 4 valuable Freehold Dwelling Houses, situate and being Nos. 2, 4, 6, and 8 Grove-road, Rushden, of brick and slate erection, and each containing front room, living room, 3 bedrooms, kitchen, workshop, and the usual domestic offices, now in the occupation Messrs. Houghton, A. Walker, and others, and producing a gross rental of £76 14s. per annum.

Lot 2.—All those 8 valuable Freehold Dwelling Houses, situate and being Nos. 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, and 19, Grove-road, Rushden; similar erection, now in the occupation of Messrs Ambridge, C. Minney, and others, and producing a gross rental of £107 4s. 6d. 

Lot 3.—All those 8 valuable Freehold Dwelling Houses, situate and being Nos. 23, 25, 27, 29, 31, 33, 35, and 37, Manton-road, Rushden, of brick and slate erection, and each containing front room, living room, 2 bedrooms, kitchen, workshop, and the usual domestic offices, now in the occupation of Messrs. Greaves, Desborough, and others, and producing a gross rental of £136 1s. 4d. per annum,

Lot 4.—All those 2 Copyhold Dwelling Houses, situate and being Nos. 8 and 10, Bedford-road, Rushden, of brick and stone and slate and tile erection and containing (No. 8) front room, large bedroom, store room, and No.10 front room, 4 bedrooms, kitchen, and the usual domestic offices, now in the occupation of Mr. Joseph Maddams, and producing a gross rental of £20 0s.10d. per annum.

Is instructed by the Trustees of the Rushden Adult Schools to offer for Sale by Auction at the Coffee Tavern, Rushden, on Monday 7th May 1923, at 6 o’clock in the evening precisely, subject to such conditions of sale as will then be produced.

All those Two Freehold Dwelling Houses of stone, brick, and tile erection, now in the occupation of Messrs. Paragreen and Lee, and producing a gross rental of £57 6s. 2d. per annum, the whole containing in area 1,810 square yards or thereabouts.

1924 - Antiques at The Cottage

Property Sale—“Ferndale,” the late residence of Mrs Clara Bellamy, Portland-road, Rushden, was sold by auction on Monday to Mr R Marriott, builder, Rushden, for £790, vacant possession being given. As a separate lot, a plot of garden ground adjoining was withdraw at £160. The solicitors were Messrs Simpson and Mason, Rushden and Higham, and Messrs Lamb and Stringer, Kettering. The auctioneers were Messrs Berry Bros and Bagshaw, of Kettering.
