All that MESSUAGE or TENEMENT, with the Grocer and Ironmonger's Shop, Yard, Garden, Orchard, Barn, Stable, Warehouse, and other requisite Out-buildings, well calculated for a Grocer or Ironmonger, situate in the centre of the populous Village of RUSHDEN, aforesaid for several years in the occupation of Mr. Overall, and late of Mr. G. Plested, Grocer and Ironmonger.

Later this was rented by R O Butcher, and then continued as a grocery as wine merchants,
kept by Thomas Brown, who was known to have sold ale in bottles with his name.

Arthur Simpson had a cafe business from 1914 before his
daughter Florence Simpson took over as a milliner and dressmaker, later termed a 'modiste'.

Reverted to living accommodation in 2019 and now protected by Listed Building status..
