Mrs Susan Chettle was trading at 100 High Street South, on the other side of the road.
When Arthur took over her fruiterer business, he moved to 91.
He advertised in Kelly's directory until 1940, but nothing more is known.

On the 17th April 1933, Sidney Hawkes, aged 24, an engineer, of 3 Jones Cottages, Victoria Road, son of Ernest, a shopkeeper, and Edith Susan Coleman, 23, a draper's assistant, of 91 High Street South, daughter of Arthur, a fish merchant, were married, at Park Road Baptist Church.
