c1895 left is 40 & 38 High Street facing Cave's factory

Harry Everingham was in partnership with Mr King. This was Robert C King as they were both lodging in Griffith Street in 1901, and both hailed from Spalding LIN. They opened their shop at 40 High Street in 1896.

We are now showing New Goods in all departments: 40 ranges of choice Dress Goods. Patterns on application—Everingham & King. Machester and Bradford Warehouse (opposite Cave’s factory), High-street, Rushden.

They traded here until the great fire in 1901.

After the fire the partnership ceased, and Henry married. Henry continued his business in the newly rebuilt shop until he was declared bankrupt in 1908.

They then traded together under his wife's name.
