For Immediate Disposal, either in one lot or separately, the following CONFECTIONERY and SWEET BUSINESSES, all centrally situated, well fitted, and desirable concerns:- 36, Gold-street, Kettering; High-street, Rushden; The Drapery, Northampton; Silver-street, Wellingborough. Full particulars and orders to view, etc., from the Liquidator, W George Esq., Solicitor, Wellingborough, or Arthur Dawes, Valuer, Wellingborough.

Central Buildings

Plans were passed
for three shops
to be built in 1895. Amendement for drainage was applied for in 1896 under the name of Mrs Brown.

The date stone is on the Queen Street side of the block.

In 1909 Miss Annie Mobbs sold confectionery at 62 High Street, formerly J Wooding & Sons, later Lipton's Store. Her sister Agnes and their widowed mother Eliza were also living with her. Annie (1868) and Agnes (1876) were born in Northampton and they were both confectioners.

In 1921 they moved to 35 High Street, the late Miss E Hewitt's stationery store, now trading as A & A Mobbs.

Only Agnes was listed in Kelly's 1931 directory, the final entry for the Mobbs.
