Saturday 11th May, 2024 was certainly a day when the sun was making its warmth felt in Rushden.

So the ideal day to launch the Swivel Club Charity Shop at their new home. A good atmosphere was evident with drinks and cakes given away to the well wishers. The building was previously used by the Coffee & Counters shop.

The official opening was performed by Mr Walt Waterfield.

A high of 23C with a slight breeze made it a perfect time to be able to sit outside and watch the world go by. The month of May, 2024, went on to be the warmest on record beating the previous record by 1C,  from 2008.The average for the month was 13.1C, but was marred by being pretty wet.

If you have not discovered our local weather station yet head over to Rushden weather station and their comprehensive website @ http://www.rushden-weather.co.uk/

A change of trading places during 2024, but the Swivel Club continues to raise money for good causes, in and around Rushden.

They can now be found at The Precinct, 173 Grangeway, Rushden NN10 9JE. Shop opening times are 10:00am - 3:00pm

Making contact is easy, you can call Mossy on 07914 798951

Parking is not going to be a problem, and I am sure that your donations and purchasing of items will be more than welcome.

On the subject of parking, motorists should be aware that there are big pot holes as you enter and exit the car park area.

This area in Grangeway seems to be looking pretty good these days, with the Co-op, Budgens, the TA Bros. chip shop, the Golden Sunrise Chinese takeaway, Janick the hairdressers, and the BakeHouse, all close by.

Keep an eye on their social media platform, for all the up to date information, about dates and times of events.

Regular fund raising events take place over in Higham, at the Working Men’s Club.
