Sir Lewis Pemberton of Rushden forthwerth of December 1640; My body to be buryed in decent manner.
To son Goddard Pemberton my second son the sum of £200.
To Lewis my third son £200.
To John my fourth son £200 at the age of 21 years. If John dies before the age of 21 the money to be devided between Goddard and Lewis. If they [G & L] shall be then dead to the survivors of them.
To my daughter Dorothy £300.
To my other daughters which are married £10 a peece to buy them Rings with the inscription "Love One Another"
To the poor of Rushden 20 nobles to be paid within six months after my decease if I shall be there interred.
To John Odell for faithful services to myself and my deceased wife £10.
To Isabell Quarrey £5.
To John Croxton, William Lyne and Richard Gray my servants £10 a peece at the time of my death.
To William Ives for good services done me £10.
To Edward Dulley Clapham and my son Goddard over and above the former legacy,
To Thomas Turrer £10 apeece.
Tenements together with the Parsonage of Rushden Estate to eldest son Robert and his heirs, also garden closes, orchards, copyholds, Messuages cottages and woods.
I desire Lord Spencer and John Earl of Peterboro, overseers and give them £10 a peece to buy them ringes.

Probate was granted on the 9th January 1640/1.
