Severely handicapped children are now enjoying freedom of movement in their own luxury hydrotherapy pool.
The indoor pool at Rushden Hospital's Colton Ward has been built mainly with the help of local donations.
Now, sister-in-charge Sally Childs has invited everyone who contributed towards the £26,000 pool to an open evening to see the end result on Wednesday, May 21, from 6 - 8pm.
Sister Childs said: "About two thirds of the cost was raised locally - through gifts of cash and donations from specially-organised events by local organisations. We also had a £3,000 grant from the Variety Club of Great Britain. The pool is a marvellous asset and allows children freedom to move around. They really enjoy being in the warm water."
Fundraising is still continuing for the pool to meet running costs. An official opening is planned for June 4.
