PUB'S GIFT BRINGS FUN FOR YOUNG

Pub's gift to Colton Ward
Youngsters are joined by auxiliary Carole Pantlin as Mr Dawson presents
the cheque to Sister Childs and Coral Johnson

The children of the Colton Ward at Rushden Hospital now have a £280 play mat to romp around on.

The leather-covered foam mat is designed to allow youngsters to have a whale of a time without getting injured.

It came courtesy of the regulars and staff at the Waggon and Horses pub in Rushden’s High Street South.  A bottle on the bar produced most of the £240 handed over by landlord Peter Dawson.  It was received by Sally Childs, sister in charge of the ward, and auxiliary Coral Johnson.

The mat, already in position in the ward, cost around £280, with the shortfall being made up by the hospital.
