Opened in 1936, cinema ended 1982, junior club sessions and theatrical events continued for a time.
Closed in 1986. After standing empty for a time it became a bingo club in 1991 but closed in 2022.
In 2025 redevelopment of the building is underway.

Advert - September 1938 Risdene Tatler The cinema had a collection box for donations		In 1989/90 the Ritz was under threat of redevelopment as a retail or office complex. Arthur George's campaign, with a petition signed by hundreds of people, the Ritz finally became Flutters Bingo in 1991.
