Allen - Underwood

At St Mary’s Church on 8th June 1897, Samuel Benjamin Allen married Clara Underwood, by Banns.

Samuel aged 30, a shoe factory manager, son of Samuel Robert Allen, deceased shoemaker, and married Clara, aged 21, a shoe machinist, daughter of Enos Underwood.

Presentation—Mr. Sam Allen, who recently entered into the state of wedded bliss, was presented privately with a clock, which had been subscribed for by a few of his old cricket and football friends. The clock bore the following inscription: "Presented to Mr. Sam B. Allen by a few of his old cricket and football friends on the occasion of his marriage, July, 1897."
