Married at Meppershall, Beds., their native place, on October 15th, 1892, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Dilley, of Avenue-road, Court Estate, Rushden, have been celebrating their golden wedding. A large part of their life was spent in London, and they settled in Rushden 28 years ago.
Always an out-of-doors worker, Mr. Dilley was in the Urban Council's employ for 18 years, and grave-digging at the cemetery was one of his duties. He is 79 and his wife is 76. Neither enjoys very good health, and Mrs. Dilley has in fact been an invalid for several years, but they were in good spirits on Sunday when a family party was held at their home.
There were 11 children of the marriage, and two. sons and four daughters survive. Three of the daughters live in Rushden.
