Mr and Mrs Sargent Knight
Mr and Mrs Sargent Knight, of Duck-street, Rushden, celebrated a unique event on Sunday last, that of their diamond wedding. Mr Knight and his wife were both born in Rushden, and were married 60 years ago last Monday. Mr Knight is 79 years of age, and Mrs Knight is 82 years old. The former is still hale and well, and continues doing a little boot repairing. Mrs Knight was a Miss Robinson, and Mr Knight’s father was the first schoolmaster in the town. The couple have lived in the house in which they reside for the past 58½ years. They have four sons and one daughter, twelve grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. We heartily congratulate Mr and Mrs Knight on attaining the 60th anniversary of happy married life.
