Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Minney, of 80, Wellingborough-road, Rushden, celebrated their Diamond Wedding anniversary on Christmas Day.  They were married at St. Mary’s, Rushden by the late Canon Barker, Mr. Minney having come to the town from Yardley Hastings as a lad.  Mrs. Ellen Minney was a native of Brigstock.

The husband, now in fairly good health despite his 80 years, was employed for about 38 years by Messrs. Jaques and Clark, boot manufacturers, retiring at the age of 65.  The wife, aged 79, retains excellent health.

There were 12 children of the marriage, but only five – four daughters and a son – are left.
