At the age of 81 years, our friend, Mr. Joseph Billingham, was called Home on Sunday, March 20th. As we all know, for a year and a half past his health had been broken, and, despite all that remained to make life sweet, weakness and weariness so increased as to fully reconcile him to the great change. His connection with the church at Park-road, as a worshipper, extended over nearly seventy years, and notwithstanding all the changes he had witnessed, the keenness of his interest was preserved to the last. In the ranks of our congregation his familiar figure has been missed greatly, and much sympathy flowed out to him during the course of his long prostration. We remember him with feelings of warm regard, assured that death has meant for him an exchange of the earthly for the heavenly, "which is far better." The recollection of the life of their loved one extended to more than four-score years, and then crowned with immortality, will, we are sure, minister consolation to Mrs. Billingham and Mrs. Winters, with all the members of their family, in the loss they have sustained.
