Former colleagues of Pat Catlin, Head of South End Infant School in the 1960’s and 70’s, are deeply saddened by the news of her death.
Pat was an admired and respected Head Teacher, who loved and understood children. She had a brisk way with infant wrongdoers but was kind and gentle with troubled children. Many parents also, sought her advice and confided their worries to her.
She was an excellent practical teacher, who could always be relied on for help and advice. She trusted and supported her staff and encouraged us to work in an atmosphere of co-operation, appreciation and friendship.
I came to South End straight from College and could not have had a kinder or more approachable Head Teacher.
Pat was a witty and charming lady, and those of us who taught with her will never forget her.
