The Rushden Argus, 10th May 1890, transcribed by Kay Collins
Mr. William Wright

OBITUARY—It is our mournful duty this week to have to announce the decease of Mr. William Wright, baker, of High-street. The deceased had been suffering for some time past of cancer of the liver, and latterly of jaundice, to which he succumbed on Tuesday morning at the ripe age of 75 years. He was born at Knuston Lodge, and had been connected with the Old Baptist Meeting for over half a century, and for forty-two years had carried on business as a baker. Quiet and retiring, taking no active part in public affairs, yet he was widely esteemed for his uprightness and integrity.  He was interred in the burying-ground adjoining the Old Baptist Chapel this afternoon, The Rev. W. J. Tomkins officiating. Mt. S. Knight was the undertaker.

His gravestone was removed in 1953
