Harry Rice, son of Jeremiah and Annie was born in 1885 when the family was living in Rice's Field before moving to Albion Place. He was enrolled at South End school in 1891, where he stayed until 1897. He followed his father into the shoetrade and became a rivetter.

In 1911 Harry married Kate Beatrice Ainge, daughter of William and Annie, who lived at 51 Newton Road.

Harry was a drummer at the Palace cinema. He enlisted with the Royal Welsh Fusiliers as Bandsman 38707. In 1915 he was serving in Egypt and Kitty sent him a photograph of herself, taken by Ernest Virgo. Harry wrote to Mr Wills, of the Palace cinema, during his time serving.

They had been living at 88 Newton Road, and in 1918 Harry is listed as an absent voter, of 3 Trafford Road.

In the 1920s they were living at 51 Newton Road, then known as Goldwyn House. They took a holiday in 1928 and travelled to Paris, and sent home a postcard to William Eayres to tell him they would be stopping off in Brighton on their way home.

Harry was buried in Rushden cemetery on 2nd September 1952, and Kate was buried there on 28th July 1975, aged 89.
