John Clipson, inventor, engineer and businessman, is thought to have owned the first car in Rushden.
John Clark, shoemanufacturer and brickmaker, who instigated the electricity company, also had a car in 1907. John sent a parcel to his chauffeur, in 1914 when he enlisted in the Royal Field Artillery.
This vehicle belonged to one of the Sargent family.
Thought to be Mrs Smith and with her mother. If you can help us identify this lady we'd be pleased to hear from you.
