On Wednesday morning a doctor was sent for, and he found that symptoms of inflammation of the brain had developed themselves.
Gradually getting weaker, deceased passed away at 11.40 a.m. on Sunday. Deceased was a scholar in the Independent Wesleyan Sunday school, Queen-street. The Rev. C J Keeler held a service in the Cemetery Chapel and at the graveside. The mourners were Mr and Mrs Higgins (father and mother), Albert, Edgar, and Lily (brothers and sister), Miss Archer, Mrs Clements, and Mrs J H George, of Irchester (aunts). A lovely lot of wreaths were place on the coffin. Mr and Mrs Higgins and the family wish to sincerely thank all kind friends for the sympathy shown.
Note: Rose Higgins' exercise books were left at the school and the gardening teacher used one to record the crops grown and harvested in 1916. The books are now at Rushden Museum.
