Mr. Alfred Willmott
In Memoriam

The sudden passing of our friend, Mr. Alfred Willmott, at the age of 64 years, was an occasion of deep grief to us all. From his honoured parents he inherited a fine tradition of devoted love for the church at Park-road, and there was never a time when he fell short of faithfulness to the lofty example they had set. Among other ways, his interest in our church life manifested itself in unfailingly regular attendance at Sunday services and at such week-day gatherings as business exigencies would permit, in generous financial support, and in the encouragement he gave his children to identify themselves actively with the cause. When he farmed at Chelveston, he was a tower of strength to our branch church there, for which he gave proof of his unabated regard to the last by attending the anniversary services on March 3rd this year, when he appeared to be in quite normal health. Deeply grateful, and honouring him in memory for all the service he rendered Christ's cause, with real sorrow for his untimely loss we assure each member of the stricken family of the heartfelt sympathy all our readers feel for them in their sore bereavement.
